JKR has mentioned on her site that purchases made from eBay claiming to bear her signature are bogus, and that eBay has been unwilling to do much about the fraudulent merchandise. It was announced this week that she will sue eBay over pirated books.

VoldyPoo has been featured here before, but you should definitely check out this artist’s work at TLC (VoldyPoo’s profile).
This, of course, is the scene in HBP when Scrimgeour finds Harry at the Weasleys’ and tries to talk him into “helping” out the ministry. I encourage you to go and look at other works by this artist; some were frightening. I have often thought Fenrir Greyback reminded me of nothing so much as a child molester, and VoldyPoo’s scene of Greyback hiding behind a tree in wait for the child Remus Lupin was frightening, as was the depiction of the results of the Sectumsepra spell. I didn’t want to put those particular pictures on this blog, so those who visit here might use their their discretion about looking at them, but the artwork is amazing.

Soccer Dad shares his theories about “Portkeys, Thestrals, and More.” He makes some excellent points about Dumbledore and Harry’s use of the Unforgivable Curse. I thought Jo’s explanation of why Harry couldn’t always see thestrals kind of lame, myself.
