The biggest news this fortnight is that the title for Book 7 has been released! At this time, it is unknown when Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (DH) will be released. Much speculation over the title will ensue.

Theories and Speculation
Damon Hedman shares his Severus Snape Speculation Site (say that three times fast). Snape is my favorite HP character, and I love to speculate about him. One of my favorite new Snape tidbits is JKR’s mention of Dan Radcliffe in her latest Diary post: “Dan has changed his theory on Snape; he says he doesn’t want to be like one of those people who are photographed, beaming, next to mad dictators.” Et tu, Dan?
Hermione’s Library
Last year at Christmas, we tried Mugglenet’s recipe for Butterbeer (printer-friendly version). While cleaning out the fridge yesterday, I found the forgotten bottle of butterscotch syrup we used in the recipe. Why not try it for New Year’s? As Ron says in the books, it really does warm you up. I’m not sure how it works, but I know we all felt toasty after drinking it. I thought it was a bit too sweet, but it was still pretty good.

I just figured out how to incorporate podcasts into this blog. TLC’s PotterCast will now appear in a player at the top of the sidebar to the right whenever a new one is collected by Odeo.com. This way, you won’t have to download the PotterCast. You can simply listen to it at the Pensieve (of course, PotterCast.com has their own streaming audio player, too). Here it is:
